Welcome to the World of 7 Billion video contest!
Did you know that the world population hit seven billion people in 2011?
How does this affect you, your neighborhood, and the global community? How does it impact our environment now and in the future?
Want to make a difference? Your voice can be heard. Create a video to show how you can be part of the solution!
Create a short video public service announcement (PSA) that illustrates the connection between world population at 7 billion and one of the following: Food Security, Global Status of Women/Girls, or Wildlife Habitat. All high school students are eligible to enter. Cash prizes will be awarded for videos in each of the three topic areas.
The deadline for submitting your video is Thursday, February 21, 2013.

Make the connection between world population at 7 billion and ONE of the following: Food Security, Global Status of Women/Girls, or Wildlife Habitat.
Research the Issue
To start your research, check out the Background Reading associated with the topic you’ve chosen. Outside research is also a good idea – here are some good sources to get you started.
Learn about PSAs

Create Your PSA
Before you get going, take a look at the FAQs and the Judging Rubric. Also be sure to familiarize yourself with the Official Rules and Guidelines of the contest. Most of all, have fun!
